Reigning Champ Greg Anderson Collects AnotherNo. 1, Vying to Win Summit Racing Nationals Again

By admin on June 29, 2025

The six-time and reigning NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series Pro Stock champion has had a stranglehold on the season, and on Sunday at Summit Motorsports Park, Greg Anderson is set up for more success as he starts from the No. 1 position for the fourth time this season. Driving the HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro, Anderson powered through qualifying and scooped up bonus points as one of the quickest cars (seven extra marks overall) to notch the 136th pole of his career.

“I consider this home turf,” said Anderson, who has three previous wins in Norwalk and is tied as the most winning Pro Stock driver at the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals – a particularly fine mark for a driver who has long been partnered with Summit Racing and for many years drove to victory flying the flag of the automotive parts powerhouse on the door of his Pro Stocker.

Although HendrickCars.com now holds the honor of primary sponsor, Summit Racing Equipment continues to be a valuable part of not just Anderson’s program, but also of the KB Titan Racing team, which has won every race so far in 2025.

“Everybody knows what Summit Racing has done for me my whole career, and when you pull up and see that billboard with Summit all over it, it’s a great feeling,” continued Anderson. “You do not want to fail, and I want to be the most winning driver at Summit Motorsports Park. Hopefully, we wake up on the right side of the bed tomorrow, ride straight all day long, and get the job done.”

The incoming points leader has reached the final at every race so far this year, and heading into eliminations at Summit Motorsports Park, his 6.594, 206.76 clocked in qualifying will give Anderson a platform upon which to build. In the hunt for his 111th career win and fifth of the season, Anderson’s day will begin with a first-round meeting with Derrick Reese.

After coming up one win light short in the GETTRX All-Star Callout on Saturday, the most winning driver in Pro Stock history is that much more motivated to go the distance on Sunday.

“I’m excited for tomorrow, I’m eager, I can’t wait to get back on that track with the intention of turning on four win lights with my HendrickCars.com hot rod,” said Anderson. “I have the car, I have the team, and I’m on my game, too. I have everything I need to get that trophy tomorrow. I’m going to do everything I can to make that happen.”

Eliminations for the Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals at Summit Motorsports Park are set to being at 11 a.m. ET Sunday.
