The desert roared under bright Nevada sunshine as event champions were crowned Sunday at the 25th annual Dodge NHRA Nevada Nationals powered by Direct Connection at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. From record-breaking milestones to championship-clinching moments, the penultimate stop on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series delivered plenty of fireworks.
In Top Fuel, Brittany Force delivered one of the weekend’s defining moments with a brilliant 3.704-second pass at 337.33 mph, claiming her 19th career victory and breaking a tie with legend Shirley Muldowney to become the winningest female driver in Top Fuel history. The Las Vegas triumph adds another chapter to her stellar career, with just one event remaining before the two-time champion steps away from full-time competition.
In Funny Car, Matt Hagan kept his championship hopes alive with a thundering 3.877 at 327.03 mph in his Direct Connection Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat, outdueling a stacked field on the tricky Vegas surface. The win tightened the points chase heading into the Pomona finale.
Dallas Glenn added another Pro Stock Wally to his growing collection, driving his RAD Torque Systems Chevrolet Camaro to a 6.602 at 206.61 mph victory. The tight Pro Stock title fight remains wide open heading into the season-ending race in Southern California.
In Pro Stock Motorcycle, Gaige Herrera continued his record-setting season, once again proving why he’s the dominant force in the class. His 6.809-second, 198.17-mph blast aboard the Vance & Hines/Mission Suzuki delivered yet another win and extended his championship lead as the tour heads to Pomona.
The Congruity NHRA Pro Mod Drag Racing Series saw its own dramatic conclusion, as J.R. Gray not only captured the event win but also secured the 2025 world championship. Gray’s consistency and raw power throughout the season culminated in a storybook finish under the Las Vegas lights, making him both race winner and series champion.
In the Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series, Jon Bradford claimed the Top Alcohol Dragster title with a 5.277-second, 273.83-mph run, while Jim Whiteley took Top Alcohol Funny Car honors at 5.493 and 261.78 mph, each celebrating big in the famed Vegas winner’s circle.
With just one race left in the 2025 campaign, teams now shift their focus to California for the 60th annual In-N-Out Burger NHRA Finals, November 13–16 at historic In-N-Out Burger Pomona Dragstrip, where championships – and legacies – will be decided.
