This week, drivers and teams of the Northeast Outlaw Pro Mod Association (NEOPMA) will head to Epping, New Hampshire, for the series’ northernmost race, New England Dragway’s NH Lottery Jet Cars Under the Stars presented by O’Reilly Auto Parts, July 26-27. The group’s 3.60-second, eighth-mile outlaw Pro Modifieds will join the fan-focused event to put on a show for the New England crowd for the first time, while it’s NEOPMA’s first time back at Epping in more than 20 years.
“I was thrilled when we got the call from New England Dragway to see if we’d join their Jet Cars Under the Stars event,” said John Mazzorana, founder and president, NEOPMA. “It’s been quite some time since we’ve been that far north. It’s admittedly a long haul for a lot of our racers, so we won’t have our full lineup, but I know a lot of the New England-area Pro Mod teams are excited to finally have a race in their backyard. It sounds like the track is expecting a big crowd and they’ve got an exciting show lined up. We’re honored to be a part of it.”
Drivers expected to compete at Epping include New England’s own David DeMarco, Pete Farber, and Tim Dutton, as well as Cedric Beaulieu, Chris Russo, Ken Quartuccio, and Kaitlin Quartuccio, Pierre Chicoine, and Claude St. Maurice.
The full Jet Cars Under The Stars lineup includes a jet truck, two jet dragsters, two jet Funny Cars, and Nitro Mike’s PT Cruiser Wheelstander. Supporting classes include Top Sportsman, Top Dragster, Pro Stock 800 Sled, and the Pro Mod Sled Asphalt Series.
Throughout the 2024 season, NEOPMA receives support from ATI Performance Products, American Racing Headers, Jerry Bickel Race Cars, VP Racing Fuels, USA Auto Supply Inc., as well as club member sponsors Fred Scriba and Kurt Steding.
Pro Mod qualifying sessions at Jet Cars Under The Stars are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. on Friday and 1 p.m. on Saturday. Eliminations are scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. Saturday, with the main show starting at 5 p.m.
