During time trials, 32 shootout drivers rolled in the lanes for their shot at a new Race Tech dragster chassis valued at $23,590. In the door car versus dragster final Rick Harbaugh from Gaithersburg, MD came out on top over Mike Matty Jr. from Sullivan, OH by way of a double breakout. Both Harbaugh and Matty laid down laps in the semifinals, where Matty was .013 total to the .018 total of Gage Burch on the door car side while Harbaugh was .006 total against Ron Stayer Jr. on the dragster side of the ladder.
