Jimmy Taylor has never been one to shy away from big goals. A frontrunner on Discovery Channel’s Street Outlaws: No Prep Kings before turning his attention to Pro Mod and outlaw-style racing, Taylor has built a reputation as one of drag racing’s boldest new faces. Now, he’s taking that mindset to another level – and he’s doing it with Fuel Factory in his corner.
Taylor, who made a splash during the 2024–25 Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service, has carried his momentum into the current season. Most recently, he scored a No. 1 qualifying effort and a final-round appearance at the YellowBullet Nationals at Cecil County Dragway. With crew chief and tuner Carl Stevens Jr. – winner of the 2018 Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod – calling the shots, Taylor and his team are preparing to swing for the fences in a private test session this week. The goal: to break into the record books and chase the title of the quickest and fastest doorslammer on the planet.

That effort just gained horsepower in the form of Fuel Factory, a performance racing fuel company making waves across drag racing and beyond.
“I’m excited to announce Fuel Factory has come onboard with JTaylor Motorsport and are supporting us with the best fuels on the market,” Taylor said. “We are going for the record books, and while they’re is always those who doubt these kind of bold ideas and plans, Fuel Factory jumped in and said, ‘That’s what we’re about – doing what everyone else says can’t be done.’ I’m very honored to team up with Fuel Factory. They are the type of partners everyone wants and looks for. I promise, people should pay attention, we are about to make history together.”
Taylor will be gunning for eighth-mile and quarter-mile records in his XRE4.9 Hemi-powered ’69 Camaro, a machine already feared in the Pro Mod ranks. The current records – 3.45-seconds in the eighth-mile and 5.14-seconds in the quarter – are held by none other than “Turbo” Todd Moyer, but Taylor and Stevens are confident their combination is capable of rewriting the books.
For Fuel Factory, the partnership with Taylor is a natural fit. Founded on the belief that ambitious racers need fuel blends that can handle the most extreme conditions, Fuel Factory has quickly developed a reputation for consistency, performance, and innovation. Aligning with Taylor’s record-breaking ambitions was a no-brainer, said the brand’s Director of Sales Marc Wesler.
“We’re fired up to be part of Jimmy Taylor Motorsport’s world record swing this week,” Wesler said. “Big goals, big horsepower, and the kind of challenge that makes Fuel Factory tick.”
Wesler added that Taylor’s bold approach mirrors the ethos of Fuel Factory itself.
“Jimmy Taylor is swinging for the fences, and we’re proud to fuel the ride,” he said. “Nothing better than being part of moments like this.”
Taylor’s march toward the record is more than just a personal milestone. It reflects the evolution of a racer who has gone from reality television contender to legitimate threat in the outlaw Pro Mod scene in just a few short years. His partnership with Stevens – known for tuning some of the most successful Pro Mods in history – has elevated the program into one of the sport’s most closely watched.
Now, with Fuel Factory backing the effort, Taylor says he feels more motivated than ever.
“This is about more than numbers on a scoreboard,” Taylor said. “It’s about proving what’s possible. It’s about all the long nights, all the hard work, and taking a swing at something that people said couldn’t be done. That’s what drives us, and it’s what drives Fuel Factory, too.”
As the team heads into its private test session, anticipation is running high. If all goes to plan, Taylor could soon etch his name into the record books and deliver Fuel Factory one of its biggest moments yet.
In drag racing, records are made to be broken – and Jimmy Taylor is ready to prove it.
