Maryland International Raceway (MIR) is setting the record straight following an announcement from the International Hot Rod Association (IHRA) on Friday, March 7, 2025, that included MIR among the racetracks being acquired by IHRA.
MIR would like to make it clear that the track is not being acquired by IHRA. The inclusion of MIR in the announcement was an error, and the track was not made aware of the statement before it was released. To avoid any further confusion, MIR has requested that IHRA clarify its post and remove the track from the list of acquisitions.
While MIR is not being sold to IHRA, the track remains committed to working with the organization on the highly anticipated return of the President’s Cup Nationals, set for August 8-9, 2025. This partnership is focused solely on hosting a premier drag racing event, and MIR remains enthusiastic about continuing to collaborate with IHRA to bring this race back to fans.
“We wish IHRA nothing but the best in its endeavors, as we do for everyone involved in our beloved sport of drag racing,” said MIR representatives.
