Hoosier Racing Tire will serve as the Official Racing Tire at the Drag Illustrated World Series of Pro Mod, the $150,000-to-win finale of the inaugural Drag Illustrated Winter Series presented by J&A Service, series officials announced today. Through the partnership, Hoosier Racing Tire will provide tire service to the more than 75 Pro Modified teams competing February 27-March 1 at Bradenton Motorsports Park.
“This is a milestone for us to have an iconic brand like Hoosier Racing Tire involved with the DI Winter Series and the World Series of Pro Mod,” said Wes Buck, Founder and Editorial Director of Drag Illustrated. “To perform at their best, our drivers and teams need the absolute best products and services available to them. Tires and mounting services from Hoosier are a big part of that. The teams participating in the final race of the Winter Series – the $150,000-to-win World Series of Pro Mod – can roll into Bradenton knowing they’ll have access to the world-class tires they need.”
Hoosier Racing Tire started in the 1950s by a circle track racer who had a vision to create his own line of tires specifically for racing. Since then, the Lakeville, Ind.-based company has grown into the largest race tire manufacturer in the world, offering over 1,000 different types of race tires. Now owned by Continental Tire, Hoosier has its own 300-mph test wheel; a technology center; state-of-the-art, fully integrated production facilities; and a high-tech mixing plant.
Hoosier representatives work closely with racers in a wide variety of formats, series, and classes, including Pro Mod drag racing. Hoosier tire technicians are on the grounds at dozens of races each season supporting the company’s customers.
“From the beginning talks of the 2025 Winter Series, I liked where Wes was wanting to take Pro Mod, which is to the top for everyone to see,” said Frank Papp, Drag Racing Product Manager, Hoosier Racing Tire. “Wes and I discussed that with 70 or 80 Pro Mods competing and the Winter Series being the biggest Pro Mod races in the world, they would need tire service. The Pro Mod teams have more than enough work as it is, so we’re there to provide them with tires and mounting services to take that workload off them. We want to do anything we can to help Wes accomplish this task because it helps the sport of drag racing all the way around.”
The World Series of Pro Mod will feature an all-star cast that includes world champions, record holders, and many-time winners from NHRA Pro Mod, PDRA Pro Nitrous and Pro Boost, MWDRS Pro Mod, NEOPMA, NMCA Xtreme Pro Mod, No Prep Kings, the Radial Outlaws Series, and even the NHRA professional ranks. It’s the third and final race of the inaugural DI Winter Series presented by J&A Service, which will pay a $25,000 bonus to the series champion.
The WSOPM lineup also includes the second annual Pro 10.5 Challenge, the third annual Mountain Motor Pro Stock Invitational, the second annual Intercontinental Top Sportsman and Top Dragster Championships, Lil Gangstas, Super Pro, and a Jr. Dragster Shootout. Hoosier will also have tires available for the competitors in those supporting classes as well.
“We want to be onsite to serve our customers and to be firsthand partners,” Papp said. “Our development is constant, whether it’s big or small. We never stop when it comes to trying to keep these cars going down the racetrack as quickly and safely as possible.”
The Hoosier Racing Tire truck will be on site at Bradenton Motorsports Park starting Tuesday, Feb. 25, to start providing service to racers who are testing in preparation for the WSOPM. Racers can reach out to Tanner Pedigo at (865) 414-4596 to inquire about the truck’s selection, hours, and more.
“We have the same truck at all these events,” Papp pointed out, “and Tanner does a great job with communicating with the racers, knowing what they’ll need, and having everything on the truck when it’s at an event. He’s the go-to for tires in the East and South areas, servicing all the PDRA and NHRA events in those territories.”
