Gutierrez Brothers Racing of Berkley, Michigan has been a force in the formidable NHRA Top Alcohol Dragster field since 2012.
Driver JP and his brother and car chief, Phil, are productive under pressure, and that propels JP to low 5-second elapsed times and 270 mph passes in their dragster powered by a blown alcohol screw supercharged 465 cubic-inch Hemi with a B&J three-speed transmission.
Gutierrez Brothers Racing, which recently took part in the Gerber Collision & Glass Route 66 NHRA Nationals presented by PEAK at Route 66 Raceway in Illinois, and Cavalcade of Stars presented by Budweiser and Summit Racing Equipment NHRA Nationals, both at Summit Motorsports Park in Ohio, is preparing to power up for the Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire, July 31-Aug. 1 at Summit Motorsports Park.
“The Cornwell Tools Night Under Fire is such a great event for both the fans and the racers that get to participate in it,” said JP Gutierrez. “The show is off the charts.”
Already flying banners for Maxima Racing Oils and Hussey Performance, Gutierrez Brothers Racing, which, in addition to JP and Phil, includes David, Laura, Kara and Lauren Gutierrez and Kevin Kolomyjec, recently welcomed M1 Concourse as a marketing partner. The timing is significant as M1 Concourse recently announced its new on-site M1 Drag Strip. The eighth-mile drag strip is slated to be completed in time for the M1 Burnout on Aug. 22, 2026, and in addition to an appearance by the Gutierrez Brothers Racing dragster, the event will feature food and more.

Located in Pontiac, Michigan, about 30 minutes from Detroit, the M1 Concourse complex continues to grow after a decade of dedication. In addition to its new drag strip, it offers a 1.5-mile road course, autocross, off-road course and motorsports club, and it is preparing to offer the X Center entertainment complex, Karting Club for electric karts and more.
