In Funny Car, Del Worsham continued his string of strong performances in IHRA competition, taking the No. 1 qualifying position with a 3.291 at 272.23 mph. In perhaps the most surprising news of the day, Dale Creasy Jr. \u2013 who was previously undefeated in IHRA competition this year \u2013 failed to qualify, with his 3.629-second pass placing him ninth.<\/p>\n

A pair of injected nitro combinations, driven by Rich McPhillips and Jamie Noonan, followed Severance in the No. 2 and 3 spots respectively.
