Torromeo has taken on an expanded role overseeing the team\u2019s operations and race-weekend management as the program continues to grow, while Car Chief Tim Dillon has stepped further into the technical leadership of the team.\u201cThe car showed some real potential,\u201d said Farley. \u201cRunning nearly 300 mph tells us we\u2019re moving in the right direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Although the team narrowly missed the 16-car field, the weekend ended with valuable data and a clear path forward. Following qualifying, several of the sport\u2019s respected nitro minds \u2014 including Dave Leahy, Tony Shortall, and Todd Paton \u2014 joined Farley in reviewing the car\u2019s electronic\u00a0systems to determine what limited the dragster\u2019s performance.<\/p>\n<p>By Sunday, the group had identified the underlying issue.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat\u2019s one of the things that makes this sport special,\u201d said Farley. \u201cThere are a lot of smart people in this pit area, and when everyone starts looking at the data together you can usually find the answer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With the issue identified, ScottRod Racing now turns its focus to its next scheduled national event.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe learned a lot this weekend,\u201d said Torromeo. \u201cOpening the season at the Gatornationals during NHRA\u2019s 75th anniversary was special for us.
