The duo will be reunited in the Lone Star State as they compete together for the first time since the NHRA U.S. Nationals.

Jasmine Salinas’s sophomore season in the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series has been a roller coaster of ups and downs as she navigated the juxtaposition of a phenomenal on-track performance with the real-world financial demands of the sport. Although her quest for sponsorship funds has her competing on a truncated schedule this season, Salinas has been taking advantage of every possible opportunity to get behind the wheel of her 12,000-horsepower machine, tuned by crew chief Joe Barlam and assistant crew chief Adem Cave. While she’s only competed in five events this season, she’s reached the semifinals in all but one of her outings. Salinas won the NHRA FallNationals in Top Alcohol Dragster in 2022, the year she went on to clinch the North Central Region Top Alcohol Dragster championship in the NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series.

“Nothing this season looks like I thought it would,” said Salinas. “But I’ve had the opportunity to develop skills that will continue to enhance my driving abilities. We’ve had success at Texas Motorplex in the past and this facility is great. The Meyers make it bigger and better every year. It’s one that everyone gets amped up for. I would love to end this season with a cowboy hat!”

While this will be the final event on Salinas’s schedule for the 2025 NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series schedule, the talented driver is excited for new opportunities in drag racing that are currently on the horizon.

The Countdown to the Championship in Pro Stock Motorcycle has been full of surprises so far and the points standings are tight. Only 169 points separate Jianna Evaristo, in seventh place, from the current points leader, Richard Gadson. Evaristo is eager to secure her first win of the season and close the gap on the Countdown competition.

“We’re heading into the Stampede of Speed with a lot of confidence and momentum,” said Evaristo. “The last few races have shown how much progress we’ve made, and we’re ready to keep pushing. There’s nothing quite like the energy and excitement in Texas, and I can’t wait to throw down this weekend.”

NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series qualifying kicks off on Friday, October 10, with sessions at 4:15 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. Qualifying will continue with two more rounds on Saturday, October 11, at 12:00 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. Eliminations are scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 12.

This story was originally published on October 8, 2025.

The post Scrappers Sisters Ready to Turn Up the Heat at Texas Motorplex first appeared on Drag Illustrated.

The Scrappers Sisters, Top Fuel pilot Jasmine Salinas and Pro Stock Motorcycle standout Jianna Evaristo, are ready to take on Texas at this weekend’s Texas NHRA FallNationals at Texas Motorplex aboard their respective Scrappers Racing machines.
