Excellent career opportunity at Maryland International Raceway in Mechanicsville, Maryland for a motivated individual to oversee racing operations, directing events, handling track prep, managing staff, coordinating event checklists, and organizing track rentals.<\/p>\n

Qualifications:<\/p>\n

\u2022 Experience in drag racing with a race team or has worked at a track or racing series.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Looking for an upbeat person, with good people skills and a strong character.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Must have a good work ethic, be resourceful, organized, fast learner, have problem solving skills, and be a motivated self-starter.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Able to hustle and meet the physical demands of an event from start to completion.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Reside within a reasonable proximity of MIR or be willing to relocate to the area.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Have a driver\u2019s license, your own transportation and pass a background check.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and general computer knowledge and writing skills.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Possess general mechanical knowledge (working on equipment, troubleshooting, etc.)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Looking for candidates that desire long-term employment with MIR.<\/p>\n

\u2022 A background in timing systems or electrical wiring and track prep is a plus, but not required.<\/p>\n

Duties:<\/p>\n

\u2022 In charge of hiring, scheduling, and training of approximately 50 part-time staff members.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Scheduling other contracted staff departments.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Working with other full-time staff on event checklists.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Overseeing track prep at facility, and training staff.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Booking, organizing, and prepping track for weekday track rentals.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Ordering consumables, trophies, track supplies, and more.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Assisting with Social Media.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Arriving to track early and getting facility ready for gates to open on race days.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Overseeing track closing each night.<\/p>\n

Schedule:<\/p>\n

\u2022 This is a year-round full-time position.<\/p>\n

\u2022 Mar-Nov Race Season: 6 days a week (with some weekends off during the racing season)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Dec-Feb Off-Season: 5 days a week (closed on weekends)<\/p>\n

Compensation:<\/p>\n

\u2022 $60k-$90k a year salary (based on experience and ability)<\/p>\n

\u2022 Benefits include health insurance, dental, vision, holiday pay, paid vacation, and optional IRA savings plan.<\/p>\n
