Originally AHRA-sanctioned, the track quickly developed a reputation as a must-visit facility for sportsman racers, while also attracting a who\u2019s-who of professional stars over the decades \u2014 including\u00a0Don \u201cThe Snake\u201d Prudhomme, Big Daddy Don Garlits, Dyno Don Nicholson, Vern Moats, Ron Capps, and Tommy Johnson Jr.<\/p>\n<p>Under the steady leadership of\u00a0Gerald Kramer and Scott Gardner\u00a0since 2006, the track has seen significant investment and evolution. More than\u00a0$250,000 in upgrades\u00a0have been poured into the racing surface, safety equipment, lighting, timing systems, and general facility maintenance. Key additions include\u00a0Musco Lighting,\u00a0Accutime Timing System,\u00a0concrete safety walls, a\u00a0new track sprayer, and more \u2013 ensuring that Eddyville remains a top-tier racing destination.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have spent most of my life in racing and race track ownership and operations,\u201d said Gerald Kramer. \u201cI\u2019m now at the age where I want to slow down a bit. We have a strong financial foundation and business operational structure and tremendous support from many marketing partners.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The facility has been sanctioned by NHRA, IHRA, and most recently\u00a0WDRA, and continues to host cornerstone events like\u00a0The Night of Fire,\u00a0World Fuel Altered Nationals, and\u00a0Funny Car Chaos. A deep roster of\u00a0local sportsman racers, loyal fans, and consistent sponsor support have made Eddyville one of the more\u00a0financially stable tracks in the country.<\/p>\n<p>Built in 1965, Eddyville Raceway Park stands today as a\u00a0model for sustainable, small-market drag racing.
