That\u2019s a feat, even just to win three years in a row with one motor and one combination, but we\u2019ve had to endure penalties and changes to the car \u2013 things that weren\u2019t even our choice. This team is just awesome. They take it in stride and figure out a way to make this car fast no matter what.\u201d<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Dominant Performance<\/h3>\n<p>Melnick qualified\u00a0No. 2\u00a0and then went on a tear, posting the\u00a0low E.T. of every round\u00a0and ultimately the\u00a0low E.T. of the entire event\u00a0in the final. His run to victory looked like this:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Round 1:<\/strong>\u00a04.156 at 171.89 to drive around Joe Valerio (4.354)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Semifinals:<\/strong>\u00a04.173 at 171.10 to defeat hometown favorite Nicole Liberty (4.205)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Final:<\/strong>\u00a04.144 at 171.69 to edge out Lexi Tanner\u2019s 4.176 at 170.78<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The win also came with the\u00a0$8,000 Power Purse prize, boosted by Talbert Manufacturing.<\/p>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Strong Weekend for Tanner<\/h3>\n<p>Final-round opponent\u00a0Lexi Tanner\u00a0showed her own strength at Martin, qualifying\u00a0No. 1\u00a0for the second time in her career. She caught a break in the opening round when\u00a0Kyle Salminen\u00a0couldn\u2019t fire, posting a 4.165 at 171.10 on the solo pass. In the semifinals, she overcame a perfect\u00a0.000 reaction time\u00a0from rookie\u00a0Carson Hoyle, advancing with a 4.181 at 170.58.<\/p>\n<p>Tanner left nearly even with Melnick in the final, but the defending champ\u2019s mid-4.10 consistency proved untouchable.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1600\" height=\"900\" src=\"https:\/\/dragillustrated.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/DIFeatureImage-Jeff-Melnick-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-87233\" \/><\/figure>\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A Rare and Historic Achievement<\/h3>\n<p>Winning three Northern Nationals in a row is impressive enough \u2013 but doing it with\u00a0three different engines\u00a0sets Melnick apart in Pro 632 history.
