The road to NHRA\u2019s first-ever regular-season championship heats up at the\u00a043rd annual Lucas Oil NHRA Nationals, August 14-17, at historic\u00a0Brainerd International Raceway\u00a0\u2013 one of the most pivotal and iconic stops on the NHRA Mission Foods Drag Racing Series tour.<\/p>\n

Marking the 13th of 20 events on the 2025 schedule, the Brainerd weekend arrives with championship implications across\u00a0Top Fuel, Funny Car, and Pro Stock, just ahead of the Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Fans can catch the action live on FS1, with Sunday eliminations airing on FOX.<\/p>\n

Known for its\u00a0legendary \u201cZoo\u201d campground, party atmosphere, and record-shattering speeds, BIR has delivered unforgettable moments for over four decades \u2014 and this year promises more of the same.<\/p>\n

Last year\u2019s Brainerd winners\u00a0included Justin Ashley (Top Fuel), Blake Alexander (Funny Car), and Dallas Glenn (Pro Stock), while Mission #2Fast2Tasty Challenge victories went to Antron Brown, Austin Prock, and Greg Anderson.<\/p>\n

Top Fuel: Justin Ashley returns as defending event champ, but it\u2019s\u00a0Shawn Langdon\u00a0who leads the standings with three wins. Hot on his heels is\u00a0Tony Stewart, just 48 points back, while contenders\u00a0Brittany Force\u00a0(fresh off a 343-mph blast in Sonoma),\u00a0Doug Kalitta,\u00a0Antron Brown, and\u00a0Clay Millican\u00a0are all in the mix.<\/p>\n

Funny Car:\u00a0Austin Prock, the reigning world champ, continues to dominate with five wins and a shot to clinch the regular-season title in Brainerd. Other standouts include\u00a0Jack Beckman,\u00a0J.R. Todd,\u00a0Paul Lee,\u00a0Matt Hagan\u00a0(fresh off a Seattle win), and\u00a0Ron Capps, BIR\u2019s most successful active driver with seven career wins.<\/p>\n

Pro Stock: Dallas Glenn aims for a\u00a0three-peat\u00a0in Brainerd but will face pressure from\u00a0Greg Anderson, a Minnesota native and three-time Brainerd winner. The KB Titan teammates are separated by just 37 points. But don\u2019t count out\u00a0Elite Motorsports, as\u00a0Greg Stanfield\u00a0ended their 11-race win streak in Sonoma.<\/p>\n

The event also features competition in the\u00a0NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series,\u00a0Mountain Motor Pro Stock, and the\u00a0Pingel Top Fuel Motorcycle Series.<\/p>\n

Fans will enjoy full access to the pits,\u00a0Nitro Alley Stage programming, the\u00a0SealMaster Track Walk, driver meet-and-greets, and Sunday\u2019s\u00a0winner\u2019s circle celebration. From\u00a0autographs to 12,000-horsepower pit thrashes, this is NHRA up close and unfiltered.<\/p>\n
