In a history-making weekend at Darana Raceway,\u00a0Scott Palmer\u00a0and\u00a0Mike McIntire\u00a0captured Top Fuel and Funny Car wins, respectively, at the series\u2019 inaugural event.<\/p>\n<p>Each earned a\u00a0$50,000 payday\u00a0and the coveted\u00a0IHRA Ironman trophy, with all the action live streamed on\u00a0IHRA.TV.<\/p>\n<p>Palmer, behind the wheel of the Professional Bull Riders dragster, took the\u00a0Top Fuel victory\u00a0with a 3.958-second blast at 314.24 mph, edging out\u00a0Krista Baldwin, who posted a strong 4.125 at 293.28 mph in the final. The win marked Palmer\u2019s first IHRA Top Fuel triumph since 2008 in Milan, Michigan.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" src=\"https:\/\/dragillustrated.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DSC_3175-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-86442\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve been doing a terrible job driving all weekend,\u201d Palmer admitted. \u201cI just couldn\u2019t keep my foot on the floor like a beginner. I had to step it up \u2014 luckily, my clutch work was good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Funny Car, McIntire backed up his No. 1 qualifier status by marching through eliminations and delivering a 4.166 at 293.41 mph in the final. He edged out former IHRA world champ\u00a0Del Worsham, who ran a quicker 4.160 at 305.56 mph but was behind on the tree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s crazy. It\u2019s insane. I love IHRA and I love racing Del,\u201d McIntire said. \u201cThis is for my dad. He passed away earlier this year. We did this together. I can\u2019t even describe it.\u201d<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"850\" height=\"478\" src=\"https:\/\/dragillustrated.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/DSC_3167-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-86443\" \/><\/figure>\n<p>In\u00a0Pro Mod,\u00a0Frankie \u201cMad Man\u201d Taylor\u00a0capped off a stellar weekend with a solo shot in the final after\u00a0Mike DiDomenico\u00a0shut off at the line. Taylor clocked a 3.726 at 199.64 mph and dedicated the win to\u00a0Scotty Cannon\u00a0on his birthday.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThanks to Darryl Cuttell for putting this all together and bringing IHRA back,\u201d Taylor said. \u201cWe pour our hearts and souls into this.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Larry Morgan\u00a0scored the\u00a0Pro Stock\u00a0win after opponent\u00a0Derrick Reese\u00a0red-lit in the final. Both cars shook the tires, but Morgan\u2019s Camaro continued down track for the W.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI haven\u2019t raced in a while, but to come here and win this race is pretty special,\u201d said Morgan. \u201cI just drive the car \u2014 we\u2019re excited for all the people here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Bob Malloy\u00a0came out on top in\u00a0Top Fuel Harley, ripping off a 5.340 at 204.01 mph to defeat\u00a0Jay Turner, who ran 5.491 at 193.29 mph.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0Mountain Motor Pro Stock,\u00a0Jerry Tucker\u2019s .024 light made the difference over\u00a0Chris Powers\u00a0in a near-dead heat. Tucker\u2019s 4.120 at 174.89 mph held off Powers\u2019 4.122 at 174.26 mph.<\/p>\n<p>Tony Wilson\u00a0took the\u00a0Pro Nitrous\u00a0win after\u00a0Dale Brinsfield\u2019s\u00a0wild ride in the final saw his front end lift and slam down, triggering the chutes.
