During Wednesday\u2019s opening round of the IHRA Outlaw Nitro Series at National Trail Raceway, veteran Top Sportsman driver Marvin Blaney was involved in a frightening incident when his \u201963 Corvette erupted into flames while backing up from a burnout during the second round of qualifying.<\/p>\n

Track safety personnel responded immediately and removed Blaney from the vehicle. He was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation.<\/p>\n

Sources close to the situation indicate that Blaney suffered severe burns to his arms and hands. No additional updates on his condition were available at the time of this release.<\/p>\n
