{"id":101316,"date":"2025-06-20T14:19:09","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T14:19:09","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/racepages.com\/Videos\/drag-racing\/uncategorized\/torrence-rolls-into-virginia-chasing-consecutive-victories\/"},"modified":"2025-06-20T14:19:09","modified_gmt":"2025-06-20T14:19:09","slug":"torrence-rolls-into-virginia-chasing-consecutive-victories","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/racepages.com\/Videos\/drag-racing\/uncategorized\/torrence-rolls-into-virginia-chasing-consecutive-victories\/","title":{"rendered":"Torrence Rolls Into Virginia Chasing Consecutive Victories"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Having extended Top Fuel drag racing\u2019s longest active winning streak, Steve Torrence moves on to a new challenge this week when he sends his CAPCO Contractors Toyota back to work in the only two-day event on the NHRA calendar, the 15th American Rebel Light Beer Virginia Nationals at Virginia Motorsports Park.<\/p>\n<p>The new challenge for the four-time Top Fuel World Champion is winning back-to-back events in the Mission Foods series for the first time since his last championship season (2021).<\/p>\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2000\" height=\"1491\" src=\"https:\/\/dragillustrated.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/06\/tra05T_9753.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-85771\" \/><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Jason Zindroski photo<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>\u201cWe don\u2019t have the race car we had when we won all those championships,\u201d he said, \u201cbut we\u2019ve been working hard to get it back, and Bristol (Tenn.) was a good step in that direction.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The 42-year-old Texan\u2019s victory two weeks ago in the Thunder Valley Nationals ran to 11 the number of consecutive seasons in which he has won at least one NHRA tour event and ended a winless streak at Bristol Dragway that had reached 11 seasons.<\/p>\n<p>It was an emotional triumph for the 56-time tour winner who, by his high standards, has struggled the last four seasons, and it validated his confidence in crew chiefs Richard Hogan and Bobby Lagana Jr.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019ve changed a lot of stuff and are working hard to turn it into something we can work with,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cThe thing is, you need laps;
