See how to replace the brake pads in a Yamaha YXZ1000R in this video from Partzilla.com. This particular YXZ1000R didn’t have the worst set of pads in the world, but we’re changing them anyway. We can tell this because the Yamaha brake pad wear indicator had not been reached yet, so there was a good bit of pad material left.
In this video, John will show you how to remove the brake caliper on your YXZ1000 and replace the pads. We’ll also inspect the caliper boots to make sure they’re not torn, which would prematurely wear the pins on which the pads travel.
Only one part number is needed here. It’s the same pad set for both the right and left. You’ll need to order TWO sets to get both the right and left completed. Yamaha YXZ1000R replacement brake pads 2HC-25805-00-00:
