  5. about your Buick. we built a red, yellow and black one in engineering. before the public got to see them. by the way, i am the guy that commented to the assistant chief engineer that this car needs a different paint scheme and I am the one that suggested to paint the chrome black. the next day the paint shop got the order to fine paint that will stick to chrome. when i told the paint guys that was my idea, they laughed at me, until i told them who wrote the work ticket. then it was full speed ahead. when the cars were done and sitting together. i told the forman to park the black one in the executive parking lot next to the door were all the engineers entered. at 8 o'clock the next day 25 engineers were making calls to place orders for that car.

    I'm considering the LT3 but I can't choose GT1 seats and if they are more comfortable that's more important to me

    I still can’t wrap around the concept of “too fast” in drag racing even understanding bracket racing!

  10. Let's put some context on what Emelia Hartford and what her team is up to. Her C8 has two turbos and dynos just over 1,000-hp. The C8 has most of its weight on the rear tires (big weight-transfer) and she's running wide racing slicks. The car runs around 9.40 @ 145-ish mph. Cool stuff, right?

    Then there's HP Depot's F.A.S.T. 1969 L88 Corvette. The L88 is punched out to 560-CID, uses a big old-school carburetor, has honed out cast iron manifolds, full exhaust with glass-pack stock-looking mufflers, a tricked out three-speed automatic transmission, and runs on shaved stock-size skinny tires, as per the F.A.S.T. rules. The engine dynos at 720-RWHP. There are LOTS of subtle tricks built into its stock appearance. The car has run 9.37 @ 146-mph. "Miles-Per-Hour" in drag racing is an indication of how much power a drag car is making.

    The old-school L88 (running on shaved skinny tires) is running about the same ET and MPH as Emelia's twin-turbo, 1,000-hp C8 with slicks.

    So, why are so many hooting and high-fiving her C8? Because she's a social media darling??? I'm underwhelmed by her, her car, and her team. NOT impressed.
