Santa Pod Raceway is set to close out the FIA and FIM European Drag Racing Championships in spectacular fashion when the Euro Finals roar into Northamptonshire from September 4-7, 2025. The season-ending showdown will bring together the fastest drag racers from across Europe, alongside an unlikely celebrity guest with four million YouTube followers.
At the sharp end of the action, Top Fuel Dragsters and Funny Cars will blast down the quarter-mile in under four seconds at speeds topping 300mph. On two wheels, the nitro-burning Top Fuel Bikes and thunderous Super Twins will push into the 250mph range, delivering the kind of spectacle that has long made Santa Pod the home of European drag racing.

The Finals also bring championship drama, with around 300 teams from 18 nations filling the pits as drivers and riders chase FIA and FIM titles. Among the standout names is Sweden’s Jimmy Ålund, the most decorated drag racer in European history. Ålund has captured the FIA Pro Stock title an incredible 13 times, added a Pro Mod championship in 2018, and even claimed an NHRA Pro Stock win on U.S. soil in 2014 – a rare feat for a European racer.
Adding to the variety are Top Methanol Dragsters and Funny Cars, along with the ever-popular Pro Modifieds – Europe’s most extreme full-bodied race cars. Fans can also look forward to exhibition passes from two Eastern European heavy-hitters. Bulgaria’s Konstantin Dinev will unleash his near-2,000hp Audi ST, while Romania’s Silviu Ghita will bring his twin-turbo, twin-engined Volkswagen Lupo. Both machines have set staggering times on temporary airfield strips back home and will now test their limits on Santa Pod’s championship-prepped surface.
Of course, no Santa Pod Finals weekend is complete without the fireworks and fire-breathing Jet Cars, which will light up the night sky. Off-track, fans can take in Monster Truck demonstrations, stunt shows, a funfair, and live music. A pair of WW2 Hawker Hurricanes from the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight will add a patriotic flourish with flypasts on Saturday and Sunday.

And then there’s the wild card: Chris Burton, better known as Half-Asleep Chris on YouTube. With four million subscribers, Burton’s Lego builds reach audiences far beyond drag racing. On Saturday, he’ll meet fans and host a live Lego build on site – a crossover attraction that’s expected to pull in new spectators and add another layer to the Finals’ festival atmosphere.
Santa Pod offers free camping for multi-day ticket holders, free paddock access to watch the teams wrench between rounds, and late-night entertainment for those making a full weekend of it.
The FIA/FIM European Finals run Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Santa Pod Raceway, Wellingborough, UK. Advance tickets only – no gate sales – are available now at santapod.co.uk/european-finals.php.
