We’ll wager that 99% of the cars at your local track have at least one part that came from Summit Racing Equipment. One of those cars is probably yours.

It’s not hard to figure out why. Summit Racing offers thousands upon thousands of parts at fair prices, delivers those parts quickly, and backs them with excellent customer service. We’ve all heard the stories about getting parts from Summit Racing in a couple days or less, and they’re true. If you’re at an event and need a part to keep racing, Summit Racing will even deliver it right to the track. They’ve certainly earned the title of The World’s Speed Shop®.
We wanted to know what Summit Racing has been up to lately, so we asked Jim Greenleaf, Summit Racing’s Motorsports and Events Manager, to tell us what’s new.
Summit Racing Rewards Program
Summit Racing’s new Rewards Program is designed to help racers get the best value for their hard-earned parts dollar.
“You earn ‘Speed Points’ on every order you place online, by phone, or at a Summit Racing Retail Store,” Greenleaf explains. “You get one Speed Point for every dollar you spend. Those convert to Summit Bucks®, which are like gift certificates that can be applied to future orders.
“For every 250 Speed Points accumulated, you will earn $5.00 in Summit Bucks. That can add up quickly, especially when you’re refreshing a car or building a new one.”
Signing up for the Rewards Program is easy. If you have a Summit Racing account, just click the Program opt-on box. You can also sign up on the Summit Racing website, by phone, or using the Summit Racing app. More details are at SummitRacing.com/rewards.
Summit Racing My Garage
If there’s one thing racers like doing more than actual racing, it’s talking about racing. Greenleaf told us Summit Racing customers were asking for a place they could connect with like-minded gearheads, so they created My Garage at SummitRacing.com.
“My Garage is a place where you can post photos, videos, and updates on your car and share them with the community,” he explains. “Members set up ‘garages’ to post vehicle profiles, document projects and race results, create project wish lists, and more.
“And since everyone loves competition, My Garage has what’s called a Mod Score. The more details, photos, and updates you add to your garage, the higher the score. Get a large enough Mod Score and you can be featured in the Popular Rides section. That’s almost as good as winning a race.”
Pro Trac Traction Compound
You may have already encountered another Summit Racing initiative at your local track. Two years in the making, the company’s Pro Trac Traction Compound is designed to provide maximum traction in all types of weather and more wheel speed for improved E.T.s. That helps racers, and also helps solve a big issue for track operators.
“Traction compound has been a headache for several years. It’s been hard to get and expensive when it was available,” Greenleaf explains. “We developed Pro Trac as an affordable, high-quality traction compound. It improves traction as more cars run down the track to keep the groove sticky and consistent, even in cold weather. Tracks can buy in small quantities and not get locked into a long contract, which is a big deal for smaller operations on tight budgets.
“Bill Bader at Summit Racing Motorsports Park did a lot of testing for us,” Greenleaf continues. “He was so happy with Pro Trac that it’s now the official track compound for all SMP-produced events. Scooter Peaco at the WDRA is also a big fan, and is encouraging member tracks to use it. Judging by the inquiries we’ve gotten, racers will be seeing a lot of tracks using Pro Trac.”
Did You Know?
Summit Racing was built by drag racing. But did you know Summit Racing has been a big supporter of sportsman racing for going on 30 years?
