Following a very successful inaugural event hosted this past January at the Texas Motorplex, Will Hanna of Hanna Motorsport Services and Chris Graves of the Funny Car Chaos and Nitro Chaos drag racing series have announced their second annual CATS (Crew and Tuning Seminar) seminar to be held January 31st and February 1st at the Hard Rock Casino and Hotel in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
This two day presentation led by six time championship winning tuner Will Hanna is designed for drag race teams of all kinds and of all experience levels with the objective of improving general understanding, organization, safety and performance of your race team and race car.
“We take an all-inclusive look at team organization, safety and focus heavily on understanding application of horsepower via many different avenues of tuning. At our first CATS seminar we were impressed to find attendees from across the country and with many different applications from pro mod, funny car and dragsters to mud racing and that’s what this is all about. We look forward to CATS 2025 in Tulsa and hope to see you there!” said Hanna.
CATS will also include five guest speakers, including Marty Chance of Neal Chance Racing Converters, Murf McKinney of McKinney Motorsports, Rob Wendland of Star Racer Belts, Dennis Taylor of Taylor Motorsports Products, and CHAOS series safety director Brad Thompson, who will also be available for one-on-one time during two planned ‘breakout sessions’.
Friday, January 31st is a full day (8AM – 5PM) of discussion with a half day (8AM – 2PM) on Saturday, February 1st with lunch included both days. Saturday evening starting at 5 PM the Funny Car Chaos and Nitro Chaos banquet will be held in the same banquet hall with expected attendance of nearly four hundred guests and anyone attending CATS is also welcome to the CHAOS banquet (additional ticket purchase necessary).

TESTIMONIALS:
“CATS offers a wealth of information, from novice to expert. Come with open mind and leave with a different take on how to participate. From drivers, owners, crew persons to crew chiefs there is lots to think about. It is a great use of time and resources to better your racing program no matter what form of drag racing you are doing,” said Allen Meyer, AA/Fuel Altered tuner and team owner.
“Attending the CATS seminar was an excellent reminder for our team the importance of preparing, staying focused and keeping checklists of equipment wear and tear. Topics covered a wide range from chassis maintenance, tuning the motor, to general organization of your race operation. All three of us walked away with areas we implemented in our race program,” said Mary Reep, Outlaw Fuel Altered Champion and Funny Car Chaos competitor.
“Great, great information and great networking with other racers in a variety of different classes, it was well worth the time and money to attend! I’ve worked on some great nitro teams over the years and though no expert, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect. The presenters were great and left with a lot of very helpful information. Everyone from the novices to the pros left with better knowledge and understanding of aspects that can then be set in place for their specific application,” said Wes Swinford, crew member and bracket racer.
