Two-time Funny Car world champion Cruz Pedregon and primary sponsor Snap-on are set to bring a bold, new look to the track at this weekend’s Ford Performance NHRA Nationals in Las Vegas. The team will debut the fresh “Own It” paint scheme, symbolizing the entrepreneurial spirit behind the Snap-on franchise opportunity. The design highlights the pride, freedom, and independence that Snap-on franchisees enjoy as they deliver professional-grade tools and solutions directly to skilled professionals on-site.
The new look carries Snap-on’s signature “Own It” message both on and off the track, serving as a powerful reminder of the dedication and drive shared by franchisees and the Pedregon team.
“This time around, we’re aiming to keep it on all fours and punch the Snap-on car into the winner’s circle. We’ve been knocking on the door, especially after our strongest event in Dallas, with a season-best 3.87 time. We’re hoping to carry that momentum into Vegas and Pomona.”
Pedregon also reflected on his memorable history at The Strip.
“The Las Vegas Strip holds many great memories for me, but none bigger than the 2016 wheelstand. The car took flight and stayed up on two wheels for half a quarter mile at close to 290 MPH. It’s been one of the most iconic runs of my career.”
“People ask me all the time what I was thinking during that run. All I can say is it was scary—I was staring at the clear blue sky the whole time, not fully understanding how I got there. Luckily, it landed back on all fours, and I lived to talk about it.”
“We’re debuting our freshly wrapped Snap-on Franchisee car—an annual design I look forward to every year, especially since I ride with franchisees before events along the racing route and often host them in the pit. We’re looking forward to hitting the track with the ‘Own It’ message.”
The “Own It” paint scheme will proudly feature the name of Snap-on Nitro Franchisee Mike Geiger, a local entrepreneur. On Friday night, Mike and his wife, who operate their Snap-on truck together, will be joined by several of their customers for a special Snap-on-sponsored dinner in Pedregon’s pit. Attendees will witness firsthand how the tools they sell are used to prep the Funny Car for competition.
Snap-on’s Makers and Fixers initiative will also be highlighted, as repair professionals like Mike’s customers are encouraged to share their stories on Instagram at @MakersandFixers. The campaign celebrates skilled professionals who keep the world moving every day, from garages to racetracks. To explore more stories or nominate a “Maker and Fixer,” visit makersandfixers.com.
