1. The new MQB platform is really good for fun daily-driving. Eventually when prices drop I wanted to get an s3. Honestly I think you should try to get a test-drive in one, even if you're not interested in buying. Like a golf R in a suit, but a really nice interior, improved as a daily-driver in almost everyway over the golf that's why I find it cool. If I wanted to make a build I'd probably start out with a gti (possibly manual) and just mod from there.
   VW/AUDI is really outdoing themselves. There's not really a true competitor for these cars. Mercedes A-class hatches aren't available in the US market, and bmw radically changed the 2 series this year. You can only really compare these to other hothatches/sedans and those lack either power or luxury that this offers.

8. You have a Mustang GT which is in the same cost category as the Golf R – why didn't you get the R?

9. Best GTi ever. I think S trim is the best. 33k USD with that optional paint. Forgot to ask, what tires do you have on your GTi? Mine came with P Zero All Season
