5. Pro tip on head bolt cleaning. Aircraft stripper. Get new ones!!! Used head bolts are already stretched and can not carry extreme loads. New bolts aren't expensive considering the risk of engine failure from re-used ones.

15. Had to like this video. I understand how much this Corvette means to you. I am now driving my late father's 1995 C4 Corvette. It seems our fathres had theyre own sence of style. My old man's was a tripple black covertible. He liked all original. Youre old man must have been one hell of a driver. PROPS TO HIM!!!!

24. Z-spar filler for a boat has been industry standard with cylinder head guys for 20+ years. Reher Morrison I think sells it.

25. I've worked with cylinder head guys that would make me Tig weld like a mushroom for the expoy to have a place to grab onto.

The thing I find most impressive is several hundred miles away(in the same time frame as this car was winning races) there was a kid (me) that built a third gen camaro that was my daily driver, and still had the ac …it ran 10.88 @128 with a lot less effort and a smaller engine. Ran 11.40@124 on nitto 555r’s also with a crappy 60ft. I had a mini ram, 383 that I built, 10 bolt rear I built and a 700r4 I built. I ported the Gm fast burn heads and tuned it myself. I used a haltech ecm instead of the junky stock computer. I predict this car is going to go a good bit faster with a better computer. I was about 22 years old when I built that car myself.

31. Man, guys I have loads of respect for y’all as I can’t do hardly any of the stuff you can…but why not just get a new set of heads? Seems like a whole lotta extra work to use those! Respectfully,

32. Try a gel-based paint remover on the gunky bolts. Let them soak awhile!
