RAT GASSER: Freaked-Out '55 Vintage Chevy Drag Car | Nicole Johnson's Detour S1:E3

Who dares cut up a classic 1955 Chevy 210 hood, rudely exposing giant dual carburetors atop a 498 cubic inch blown big block engine? Rat rod master fabricator Steve Darnell of WelderUp, that’s who. Nicole Johnson explores the theory behind vintage gasser class drag racing cars and drives Steve’s horrific creation.

MORE ON STEVE DARNELL: Located in Las Vegas, Nevada, Steve is the Welder Up creative genius with a passion for rat rods. Fueled by the desire to prove the naysayers wrong, Steve has always been determined to exceed everyone’s expectations.

  1. Sounds like the A12 Super Bee I had in Philly, former S/S drag car in street clothes and slightly detuned born with 440 with heads and carbs done by Sox & Martin.

  2. He said what every other owner has been thinking… "I've never sat over here and I'm freakin' out!" while grasping for the non existent "oh s***" handles.

  3. Steve epitomized just about EVERY guy who let you drive His Car… I SO wanted you to floor it in reverse and into a J Turn and slam it into first and leave a trail of black up the street

  4. And sorry to be redundant, but I tried to watch, I’ll just say other people’s videos , and they just don’t have Nicole’s energy , I lose interest
