Heads Up Drag Racing 1964 Plymouth Max Wedge Fury 426ci NHRA Stock Eliminator A/SA Pomona Nationals

First to the finish line wins! Isn’t that how drag racing is supposed to be? For the most part, yes! Heads up drag racing is perhaps the coolest aspect of NHRA Stock & Super Stock Drag Racing. No handicap starts and no breakouts when two cars of the same class are paired on the ladder. Darcy Clarke of Edmonton, Alberta and John Shaul of New York squared off in a showdown of identical 1964 Plymouth Fury machines equipped with 426 Max Wedge motors. This was first round of eliminations at the 2022 NHRA Finals held at the Pomona Fairplex every November.
