John Force lined up against his ol’ buddy Ron “Don’t call me Cappy” Capps in the first round. John Force was the #11 qualifier oddly enough only the 2nd time he had qualified at the double 1 spot. Wasn’t meant to be for John “Mr. Smile and Talk” Force as Capps nipped him by a c-hair in what was pretty much a dead heat as you can see here by the numbers:

(L) John Force (Castrol GTX Mustang) RT0.081 ET4.119 MPH313.07
Capps soldier’d right on through to the Finals where he met John’s offspring Courtney. Which goes to show you, if you beat John, he’ll breed and multiply in order to beat you. Irony. Thick.
