Drag Race! Ford Mustang Mach-E vs Shelby GT500 | Which Mustang Is Faster? | 0-60, Horsepower, & More

It’s the Battle of the Mustangs in our latest drag racing video, as the Ford Mustang Mach-E takes on the Ford Shelby GT500. Travis Langness and Ryan ZumMallen from Edmunds head out to the track with these two Mustangs, the electric Mach-E and the 760-hp Shelby GT500, in a head-to-head battle to see which Mustang reigns supreme. Our own 2020 Shelby GT500 hasn’t had much luck in these drag races, losing to the Tesla Model Y and BMW M8, so we’re anxious to see if it can finally put a check in the win column. Can the Shelby GT500 take down the Mach-E? Which Mustang has the fastest 0-60 time? We answer these questions and more in this drag race video of the 2020 Ford Shelby GT500 vs 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E.

  1. Love the cars but 100k for a low 11 second car, thanks but no thanks. I was going low 11s 25 years ago with a pos fox body on pump gas….

  2. It's clear the MME is the best Mustang yet. Out in the real world, if both of these cars pulled up alongside each other at a stoplight, in real weather conditions who gets across the intersection first and without any drama probably driven by a soccer mom too.

  3. That mach e sound's great? No rumble , no shaking , no tire smoke=boring to me. I'm sure yuppies like 'em. Not much for the enthusiast though. Soon most folks won't know anything about internal combustion. They probably would get upset that some grease got on their hands.

  4. Uh, where is the burnout to heat the tires on the Shelby? If you don’t understand how the car works you certainly can’t race it and make objective claims about how it performs. Maybe hire someone that has some experience drag racing to do drag tests….. would you take a GT4 race car out on a road course and claim that it’s top performance numbers would be however quick an amateur could drive it? Yes, I’m calling you out along with a lot of your “automotive media” brethren. Also, roll racing is not drag racing and is about as subjective as a speed contest gets. What measure of these two vehicles performance did you derive from that?

  5. Hope long before you get another 5 seconds of full power? If it resets a son as you let off the pedal, you could pedal it 2/3 of the way down, get full power back and probably beat the GT.
