Love the name bro.
Din ding ding! That was the answer that solved my scary sounding problem, thanks!
Will it hurt to keep driving while it’s making the noise?
My truck was making a rubbing noise after changing pads and my top caliper bolt had worked it's way out. Imust not have gotten it tight enough
i thought i didnt loosen thge pads enough thinking about it it would not have gone on easily if it was too tight you're a hero get the hammer on it
THANK YOU BRO!!! PROBLEM SOLVED
This video saved me from putting hundreds of dollars in the swear jar. Thank you!
Mine was a brake clip for the pads
How do people get so lucky with the most basic ridiculous stuff like this that everyone knows about already.. how do you get the views?
Does it sound similar to worn pad indicators? Mines making noise before changing pad .
Just changed all breaks and rotors on my Subaru crosstrek and now it’s making a light scraping sound when driving but goes away when I apply the breaks. Any ideas what’s going on?
Thank you! Finally found the problem
Can I remove it
I wa experiencing a kind of rubbing sound from front passenger side when braking, took it to the dealership and they said rotors were bad, I got the rotors replaced it was ok for the weekend and it started making the same noise ( brake pads have a lot of life left) I’ve had 4 different shops look at everything and say everything looks fine) I don’t know what else to do
What if the grinding is happening to the other side of the rotor. I can see grooves forming in the rotor even with the wheel on
Ok, so I was hearing a weird intermittent grinding noise coming from the right rear break so I took it in to the place who did my breaks a year ago and they said it was the rear backing plate, pulled it back a little bit like in the video and it solved the problem. Then I started hearing the same noise coming from the left rear break so I figured it was the rear backing plate again and it just needs to be pulled back a bit. Mechanic comes out and tells me that both my rear rotors are warped and need to be replaced. I've never heard of rotors warping and needing to be replaced after a year from getting a complete brake job. There's absolutely zero vibration in the brake pedal or steering wheel so I don't know what to believe. It's an intermittent noise that comes and goes which makes me suspicious of it being warped rotors. I crawled under the car today and pulled the backing plate back a bit and I couldn't hear the noise anymore so I'll see if that fixed the issue. Really don't want to have to buy new rotors after only a year and I only put about 6500 kms a year on my car. It's a 2012 Honda CRV and I just cracked 91k.
My local garage put both inner pads on one side & both outer pads on the other side!! My breaks were supper hot to the extent you couldn’t touch the alloy !! I went back 8 times to the garage spending over £2000 on new callipers, discs, even flux hoses!! I was fuming !!
Will it be the rear breaks or front?
been tracking down a siund since yesterday.. slight rubbing/clicking .. i dont drive with my windows down much so not sure if it began before or after i changed my pads.. its sporadic.. drove 8-10 miles home, didnt hear a thing until halfway..
took it out again, started as soon as we got out the driveway, stopped and turned around.. and it quit.
checked all the pads, they're seated fine.. had 1 rotor turned, just checked the shield as in the video… im at a major impasse on this
What Is The Shield Piece Actually Called ?
Tnx for sharing the info…
My car making that wiiii sound when using brakes. Will go and check it out
Just fix this yesterday with a screwdriver 🪛 literally did the job just bend it so it wont touch the rottors
Lol.I was chasing this noise all day going crazy….thank you!!! Always check the simple stuff first!
The fact that you have red grease on the pads indicates you are an idiot and should never be allowed to work on a car.
mine was a high pitch squeal, i did this and it fixed it thank you a lot!
