Usetool’s warnings
– Once the operation is completed, you’ll need pump slowly on the brake pedal a few times until feeling a strong resistance from the pedal. The aim being to bring the brake pads closer to one other.
– Drive smoothly and avoid sudden braking for the first 50 kilometres or so to avoid glazing the new pads.
– Make sure to check the stability of your vehicle before starting the operation.
– Don’t burn yourself on the pads if you’ve just gone for a drive as braking creates friction and long-lasting heat.
Usetool’s infos
– What do we mean by “glazing new brake pads”?
– Break pads are made of a material that needs to be run-in when new. If this procedure is not done properly, when braking too hard, the material overheats and hardens. Consequently, the brakes become less effective.

thanks for the video!
Thanks for video .
ho lee sh#t guys! thanks for the tutorial. Great advice on compressing the piston using the brake pads before even removing the caliper, first time I saw this tip. Works as charm!
Fantastic video that really came in handy this weekend. Thank you.
Thanks, very clear video to follow 👍. I'm going to change the brakepads on my Dacia Logan II which I believe is also a Clio chassis.
Thank you. Wonderful tutorial.
This is not a mark 4 clio
Dont forget to control de slide pins on damaged or lubricant ,you are now busy anyway and it will take 5 minutes more .and its very important
If thy dont slide very well you get other problems .
Does mr auto app ship to Israel?
А затем было менять,там и так все новое стояло😂
Do I need a torque wrench for this job?
Done one, next when weather clears (UK!). Interesting, i am here to check yours is the same as ours, the hydraulic piston ‘cup’ is only PARTIALLY on the brake pad backing plate. I realised, this is a bit unusual, at least in my experience, and allows the piston ‘cup’ to fill with gook, salt, gritty water etc as you drive. It does make forcing the piston back in, prising the brake pads apart easier however. I find it weird is all. This may explain why this Clio tce 90 / Clio mk4, is very prone to squeals on front brakes. If salty gritty water can erode away the grease etc on the brake pad backing plate and indeed seep into the anti-rattle/squeal shim clipped onto said backing plate, that explains things. But not a bad design by any means, pretty standard and normally I do end up stuffing a wood chisel in between the brake pad and the disk initially, to get the piston to back off. Thanks for your vids, they are generally of a very high standard, and understandable, and effort is made to shoot good angles, show the details.
