There’s not enough appreciation for many types of creatives. Drag racers are one of many who are taken for granted. I agree.
Great content👍
Are they running nhra rules at this race ? Or run what you brung ?
I've been saying something similar for a long time. When I read your title, the first thing I thought to myself was, bring back night racing , long burnouts, and throttle whacks. Also, when they do the finish line interviews after the race, stop reciting a list of sponsors and talk about the run. If you want to give the fans what they love, go sit in the stands when someone does a long smoky burnout and listen to the crowd. Go down in the pits and watch all the fans that flock to scott palmers pit when they were going to whack the throttle.
For all the people who will bash me for talking about the sponsors, go back and watch some race coverage from the 80's and into the 90's. The driver interviews were better because they talked about the run they just made. I understand that the sponsors are important but not more important than the fans. Back in the day, the sponsors were paying for exposure on the car. Today, the sponsors run the sport. Not the racers. Just my opinions of course but when you hear people talk about how great the racing used to be, ask yourself what changed. It used to be about racing and now it's kind of like an infomercial.
